My Nation by Thomas

My Nation is a collection of stories about our residents. Here, the people who live with us share their experiences, memories, and everyday moments.

In this edition, resident Thomas invites us into his NATION MERRYLANDS home.

Hi everyone! My name is Tom, I am Human Resources professional and I have been in Australia for 23 years, originally from Poland. I love good food, cooking, a glass of good wine and some good music. Also a die hard Eurovision fan. You can take the boy out of Europe but you can’t take Eurovision out of his DNA😊

HOW DID YOU ORIGINALLY DISCOVER NATION?

I discovered Nation when my friend asked me to help him chose apartment at Charlie Parker. I was thinking of moving out from my place and then few months later I visited Mason & Main.

What made you choose nation merrylands?

A few reasons: the quality of the apartments and the building and common areas; the apartment layouts, practical and well finished. The service from the Team. For me also it’s the practicality of not owning a property yet having the stability of long term home.

What did you expect btr to be like before moving in?

I was no stranger to BTR.

My previous place was BTR as well. There were some reservations moving to a new BTR as from my experience everything is great at the opening but then quickly the concept, cleanliness, and overall service went down. Saying that this is not the case at Nation.

I am into third year of my lease and everything is the same and better. More facilities, great clean spaces, safe and friendly with super attentive and helpful onsite team. Feedback is welcome and addressed.

two years later, WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU?

The fact that the idea of the concept and the high standard of upkeep and service is still there and keep getting even better.

After my previous experience I was not expecting much but secretly hoping for somebody in Australia will get BTR Right. And here we are!

WHEN DID YOU START THINKING ABOUT GETTING MORE SPACE and why did you need it?

After 2 years in my spacious one bedroom apartment. I started changing my lifestyle and wanted more space to accommodate for it.

There were a few reason as to why I wanted to upgrade, I like shopping so extra wardrobe space, dinner parties and extra space for friends to stay overnight; a bit more flexibility with the interior design.

Why did you ultimately choose to stay?

I am happy with the building, how it is managed, the quality of finishes and the accessibility to shops and food places.

hAS THE BUILDING/COMMUNITY CHANGED YOU OVER TWO YEARS?

Yes! It is vibrant, diverse, life around Mason & Main is always pumping.
