My Nation is a collection of stories about our residents. Here, the people who live with us share their experiences, memories, and everyday moments. In this edition, resident Norma Chawla invites us into her Nation Parramatta City home.
Well hello everyone! I’m Norma, originally from Mexico.
I’ve been living in Sydney for two years now after marrying my best friend, Manu. We have a beautiful baby girl, Radha. You’ve probably seen her around the building in her pram! She loves exploring every corner and often ends up as the little star of my photoshoots. I just can’t resist playing with the building’s amazing concept and colors!
I’m a fashion stylist, image consultant, and personal shopper: I pretty much breathe, eat, and live fashion every day. Lately, I’ve been exploring creativity from a whole new perspective: motherhood.
my journey to nation:
Earlier we lived in the city, but with our little one on the way we started searching for a two-bedroom home. One day we decided to check out the other main CBD of Sydney, Parramatta, and that’s how we found Nation.
Honestly, it was impossible not to choose this place! As a big fan of interior design, cool concepts, great views, and (of course) Indian food, it felt like everything we love was here.
It truly was love at first sight.
my days at nation:
A typical day at Nation starts early with bubba and the most magical sunrises you can imagine. The very first thing I do is open our huge glass window—it’s my favorite ritual—then it’s straight to coffee, a good brekkie, and our always-on morning playlist. By 8:30 am, the whole apartment officially transforms into “Radha & Mum HQ.” Toys, mats, and all the cutest baby stuff take over the space. Most days we head to Parramatta Library for baby yoga or messy sensory classes, or sometimes just a peaceful walk by the riverside. Then it's off to collect Indian groceries and snacks. Afternoons are all about lunch, baby naps, and waiting for daddy to come home.
my favourite apartment feature:
This is definitely my living room and kitchen: they’re my absolute favorite spots. I love the natural light and, of course, the amazing view. Being surrounded by a beautiful aesthetic and having an open, airy space truly feels like my kind of peace.
my favourite nation amenity:
I’d say my favourite working area is on Floor #2. I love the colors, the pops of color in the interiors, and the furniture design … it’s just so cool! But I’ve also really enjoyed the common areas, especially the huge couch where my baby loves to play. Every space here is so unique. And of course, the cinema is such a wow concept: we love sharing it with friends ... and snacks!
nation IS unique BECAUSE:
I think Nation has really struck the perfect balance: cool design and concept, all while keeping it affordable. I always love coming home and feel that my personality and vibe even matches the place where I live.
my favourite thing about paramatta city:
I love having everything close by—shopping centers, beautiful parks, the river and walking spots, delicious food, and even the train station. Supermarkets and pretty much everything we need are just nearby, which makes life so convenient!
my apartment feels like home because:
For me, it was so important to discover that every part of the apartment has the perfect chairs, tables, and couch designs. As a creative and lover of aesthetics, I truly appreciate that every single detail matches my vibe, who I am, and what I love.
