Good Form is a series that explores the daily rhythms, rituals, and routines that bring wellness into our homes. In this edition, we’re joined by Olivia Scott, founder of BETTY, a New Zealand protein bar brand designed specifically for women.
Olivia’s journey began in 2013 with The Raw Kitchen, a plant-based café and cookbook venture that grew into multiple locations, bestselling books, and a vibrant online community before she sold it in 2019. After years immersed in wholefoods and women’s health, she grew frustrated by protein bars that seemed built for athletes and bodybuilders rather than everyday women balancing work, movement, and life. Three years of research and development followed, culminating in BETTY, a clean-ingredient bar with smart macros and no compromise on taste, simplicity, or integrity.
In this edition, Olivia opens the door to her daily rhythms: the morning coffee and early walks that clear her head, the movement that fuels her body and creativity, and the small, consistent choices that shape her wellbeing. From cooking dinners with intention to keeping Betty Bars close for quick nourishment, she shows how simple rituals and shared moments can ground the day and keep mind and body in balance.

How do you start each day?
Coffee first, always. Then an early morning walk with my husband and dog. It clears my head and gives me a head start on the day. I’m a firm believer in achieving small, quick wins in the morning - it makes the bigger things feel less daunting and sets a productive tone.
what's something you consume daily that improves your life?
Betty Bars. I keep them everywhere: my handbag, the glovebox, on my desk at work. When hunger hits, I know I can rely on them to keep me feeling good. The protein and fibre keep me fuller for longer, and the probiotics and zinc mean they’re doing something good for my body too.
what physical movement do you practice?
Movement is vital for me, not just for my body, but for my mind. It fuels my creativity and resilience. At the moment, that looks like Pilates, spin class, and walking my dog. It’s a non-negotiable part of my day.
what are your headspace habits?
Talking. I used to internalise everything and try to solve problems on my own. Now, I share them with the right people. Even if they’re not solved, they feel lighter. Add to that healthy food, fresh air and good friends - that’s my recipe for a clear, motivated mind.
is there a tool, product, or practice you swear by?
Bone broth, cooking from scratch, and infrared saunas.
how do you wind down at the end of the day?
Cooking dinner for my husband and I - I like to put on some music, sometimes add a glass of wine and make a ritual out of it. It helps me tap into my creative mind and I can unwind/leave work behind.
what's one small decision that has changed your life for the better?
Realising that small, consistent actions matter more than doing things perfectly.
