My Nation by Layle

Written by Heath Killen | 23/10

My Nation is a collection of stories about our residents. Here, the people who live with us share their experiences, memories, and everyday moments. In this edition, resident LAYLE invites us into her NATION MERRYLANDS home.

Hey Everyone! I’m Layle, and I’ve been calling Nation Merrylands home for a little over a year now. Living here has truly changed the way I think about renting — everything from the community vibe to the thoughtful design makes it feel like so much more than an apartment. We’re a family of six, including a busy toddler. Moving from a large family home into an apartment was something we never imagined doing, but we love creating a vibrant, family-centered life wherever we are. One unique thing about us is how much we value community and building connections with those around us.

my journey to nation:

Our journey to Nation began when we met another resident during our inspection. Hearing her share her experience of raising three kids here and describing it as “like living at a resort” really encouraged us to take the leap. We were drawn to the sense of community, the family-friendly design, and the wide range of amenities for all ages. What keeps us here is exactly that: a safe, welcoming, and vibrant environment where our kids can thrive and build friendships.

 my days at nation:

Our days start with school drop-offs for the older kids, then a quick grocery shop at one of the many nearby stores. I’ll usually stop by IFTAR for a coffee before taking our toddler to the play area on Level 2. Afternoons are filled with school pick-ups, family dinner prep, and evening activities like swimming or a quick game on the pickleball court. Fridays are a favourite, with our family movie nights in the cinema room becoming a tradition. The booking system makes it all so easy.

my favourite apartment feature:

The open-plan living area is definitely my favourite. I love being able to prep dinner while we all chat about our day, all while enjoying the natural sunlight that streams through the large windows. The warmth and brightness create such positive energy throughout our home. Don’t forget the beautiful sunset view from our balcony!

my favourite nation amenity:

My favourite Nation amenity is the private dining room. We thought apartment living would mean giving up big family gatherings, but having this space has allowed us to keep that tradition alive. It feels like an extension of our home and brings everyone together in such a warm, beautiful setting.

 nation IS unique BECAUSE:

Nation’s strong sense of community and focus on family life. From the friendly, approachable staff on-site to the creative touches like chalk for the kids to draw on the pavers, it all makes the place feel personal and alive.

my favourite thing about paramatta city:

We love the convenience. Everything we need, from grocers to retail stores, is just a short walk away. It makes day-to-day living easy and enjoyable, especially with kids.

my apartment feels like home because:

For us, it’s the comfort and convenience that Nation provides. Everything we need is right at our doorstep, making life here both effortless and enjoyable.
