My Nation is a collection of stories about our residents. Here, the people who live with us share their experiences, memories, and everyday moments.

In this edition, resident lady nee nee invites us into her NATION MERRYLANDS home.

my journey to nation: 

My name is Muneeba, aka Neenee.

I am South African born, a Life Coach, a Love Poet, and a hobby cook who sells food from home.
    
Fun Fact: I have managed to get 4 people to move into this gorgeous building 😊

 my days at nation:

If the sun is out and the weather is warm you will find me at the pool. If there are friends and family around, you will find us at the BBQ area enjoying food and some music 

my favourite apartment feature:

My most favourite part of my apartment is the balcony. I have a big obession with sunsets and the calm that it brings my soul after a long day, I did not know that I got the direct view of the sunset, until the day I moved in.  I rush home every day from work just to enjoy the sunset and record it. It is magical every single time!

my favourite nation amenity:

I am a water baby—my friends call me the little mermaid—so as soon as the sun is out, I am checking the water is warm and getting into the pool. It is relaxing down there, even just to lounge around and take in the scenery. My partner and I often just go down there for some quiet, quality time if the weather is nice.

We do also enjoy the pickle ball courts, a really fun thing to do as a couple.

 nation IS unique BECAUSE:

Here we get to experience the beauty of enjoying the peace and amenities without leaving the building. I have everything I want, right at home. I particularly love that I have met and become friends with a few neighbours now and it's just beautiful, full of culture.

This space has also given me the inspiration to write poetry. I love that I can just go downstairs and enjoy the space away from my apartment to do so, without having to get into the car.

my favourite thing about my neighbourhood:

The most loved thing about this neighbourhood is the variety of food and shopping right outside my door. My favourite spot to eat in this neighbourhood is Mase and Co, Rose makes everyone feel welcome over there. She is gorgeous 😊

my apartment feels like home because:

What makes it home is the love that fills it. Here we enjoy home cooked meals, laughter, love, and music.  

But if I had to look externally, there is the peace I feel when I can sit quietly on my balcony and enjoy the sunset whilst a hearty pot of food is on the stove.
