Good Form is a series that explores the daily rhythms, rituals, and routines that bring wellness into our homes. In this edition, we’re joined by Tess Robinson, founder of Smack Bang and Land Lab, the world’s first profit-for-purpose, evidence-based supplement brand powered by Native Australian plants.
A creative director by trade and a serial founder by instinct, Tess built Smack Bang into one of Australia’s leading creative studios before turning her focus inward — toward the systems of wellbeing that keep her grounded through the chaos of business, motherhood, and modern life. Land Lab represents the culmination of that shift: a company where 65,000 years of Indigenous knowledge meet clinical science and transparent design. Every formula, developed in partnership with the University of Queensland, fuses the potency of Native bioactives with evidence-based rigour, while ensuring First Nations growers and harvesters hold both equity and authorship.
In this edition, Tess invites us into her early mornings and end-of-day rituals — the quiet desk hours before dawn, the sauna sessions that close each night, and the steady rhythm of self-work and movement that keep her connected. It’s a portrait of a founder who treats wellness as both a personal practice and a collective responsibility: thoughtful, evidence-led, and deeply human.

A cup of tea and straight to my desk. I work in the early morning hours (from 4:45am until my kids wake at 6:30am). I love this time of day; it’s dark, quiet, and I’m left alone in my creative zone. I’m determined to be a present mum, despite running a few businesses, so I choose to wake early and work, so I can be with them outside of school hours..
Coffee, a well-stocked fridge, and my supplements — including Land Lab, of course.
For me, movement is fundamental to feeling good. Nothing can shift a bad mood or bout of anxiety quite like a workout or a walk in the sunshine. I’m naturally very energetic, so if I haven’t moved, I feel it; like the energy gets trapped inside and I get pent up, like a kid with cabin fever. I try to prioritise it in the mornings, but with two young kids that can be tricky. Even 20 minutes makes a world of difference.
I have a strong connection to self, but I’m also juggling a lot, so I’m hyper-aware of maintaining my mental state; because when I dip, so does everything around me. Therapy, spirituality, and the power of a good book keep me grounded. Time with loved ones, and just as importantly, time alone, are non-negotiables. And if you know me, you know I’m a big fan of To Be Magnetic: the best tool I’ve found for rewiring old patterns and staying aligned with what I really want.
B Mindset is everything. If I’m well in the mind, I’m well everywhere else. Beyond that, I love a cold plunge/sauna session, exercise, and I take pride in eating the yummiest, most nutritious meals I can..
Sauna. it’s time on my own, no phone, no noise. Just me, processing the day….
Not feeling guilty for taking time out for me.
